I have wandered to many locations around this planet. I’ve done so with family, friends or by myself. Many pictures of these adventures have been taken. The length of wandering may vary, but each to unique to the moment in time. I try not to always photograph every moment. Sometime privacy or just being there is enough. Some need capturing, to explain the beauty out there. I will try to tell a little story with each set of photos or not. Some speak for themselves. Hope you find a little solace in viewing or reading about what you see.
I recently acquired a portable kayak to expand locations & make getting to & from kayaking locations easier. I use to use my folding bike to enjoy going to & from places. I can now take subway or walk to water. I took the ‘G’ subway from Classon to Bergen. Traveled down Atlantic to Pier 4 Beach, BK Bridge Park. Kayaked around piers to get use to new PaKayak. Once I was comfortable maneuvering it. I made my way to Carousel Landing between the bridges. After taking it back apart & into travel bag. Off to the ‘F’ subway at York to get back home. Lovely morning dip into East River.
In Fall of 2013, I decided to a solo trip in my kayak from Albany down the Hudson River roughly about 170 miles to Brooklyn. Here is some pictures from that journey down the river. I stopped in many places on the way down & meet some nice people, some not so nice towards travelers & some characters. (Not to say what they thought of me).
For a couple of Octobers Bear Mt held OktoberFest along side the Hessian Lake. A buddy of mine invited me to join their hike. We would hike for 3 days from the RPH Shelter along the AT trail to Bear Mt.
The following year was a wet mess. Rained on for the 1st day. Wet hiking, Fun. Beautiful Ending.
Here we are again for the 3rd time. They would move OktoberFest away from the lake the following year.
Some fires.
Have Bike, Will Pedal. There once was a guy, a bike & many miles between Rome, NY & Brooklyn. Guess what? Not once but twice. The 2nd is a longer story. (Gears, Girl & my cramps)
Been there, around the city & beyond.
Once again I was invited to a hike. This time, 3 States, 2 days. CT, MA, NY. Southern Taconic Region
Kayaking down the Hudson. Cornwall On The Hudson to Brooklyn. Stopping at Bear Mt.
This time, it’s just a trip around the castle on a wet Memorial Weekend
Kayaking from Pier 4 Beach, Brooklyn Bridge Park around Governors Island Memorial Weekend.
